TEDtalk: The LXD | Dance Adventures

The LXD, otherwise known as The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers is an online dance series dedicated to depicting dancers as super heroes and villains, using their skills and choreography to "battle" each other. LXD is not only a means of showcasing the underground/underrated world of hip hop dance, but also to show how ideas can lead what was once impossible, possible. During TED, the creator of LXD, Jon Chu, talked about how he was introduced to hip hop dance and how he saw people spin on their hands and legs 80 times, contort their bodies, and perform stunts he didn't think people could ever do. From this, Chu created something that would forever change the dance scene.

Designs 1 shape. 2 different solutions to the problem. Although they are going in the same direction one is the negative space and one the positive – good juxtaposition
Design 2 PATTERN; your use of the letter to create a repetitive space is very dynamic. Perhaps they could have been smaller and more size variety between the 2 solutions.
Design 3 size. 2 very simple solutions and very effective
Design 4 Direction – the way you have used the center shape to create the direction. And that is reinforced by the bold liens is very dynamic – make sure your do not become too similar in your solutions.
Design 5 Value – excellent job – here is where the use of the bold letter on top works and reinforces the use of value as color. Not just plopped on top.
Design 6 line? I hope I got these in the right order? A strong black line that crosses the page – horizon line? Is the arrow a direction
